Parley Community Pre-School is your number 1 pre-school setting which enhances both educational and social development.

At Parley Pre School we pride ourselves on being a caring, play based, forward thinking pre school with a passion to support every child to meet their full potential. The learning experience and your child's happiness is our utmost priority. We continuously search for ways to improve our setting and create interesting experiences for your child. All our sessions are child led, we plan the activities around things they show an interest in. We believe the best learning takes place when a child is engaged in the activity and enjoying themselves,

Educational programmes, referred to by some people as the ‘early years curriculum’, are the areas of learning and development which must shape the activities and experiences that children have in an early years setting, at all ages. Parley Pre-School follows the EYFS National Curriculum, which covers 7 areas of learning.

The 3 Prime areas

  • Physical Development

  • Personal Social Emotional Development

  • Communication and Language

The 3 prime areas create the fundamental building blocks of learning, and are most essential for children’s readiness for future learning and healthy development. â€‹

The 4 specific areas:

  • Maths

  • Literacy

  • Expressive Arts and Design

  • Knowledge and Understanding of the World

Moving the Pre School from Longham to Parley was stressful but a great achievement for us all. I am excited for us to continue this journey as Parley Pre School and expanding in the near future. I am passionate about bringing awe and wonder to the children at Pre School. I love developing their learning through fun and engaging activities.  Watching a child achieve something that they have previously struggled with inspires me every day!

I have worked in education since graduating from Southampton University in 1997. I have worked in 2 local schools as a teacher and joined Longham in January 2014. I have 2 children who go to school locally. We love to camp, walk the dog and spend precious time together as a family. I love the family atmosphere we have continued over to Parley Pre School and believe children are the best medicine, they never fail to put a smile on my face and that’s why I love my job.

I have worked for Longham Pre-School for 7 years and in that time I have achieved my NVQ level 3. After having my second child I realised how much I enjoy spending time with children and decided to start a new career. I have two young children who I love spending time with. We enjoy making crafts and baking cakes together.

I am so grateful to all the staff at Longham for giving me this opportunity to be a part of their team, They have all been so welcoming and I look forward to continuing my studies.

I have 2 lovely boys at home, one of which attended Longham and loved it. As did I which encouraged me to make the leap and retrain for Early Years.  I was lucky to complete my Level 2 at Longham and have now joined Parley.  I spent precious time with my first child during lockdown puddle jumping, exploring the outdoors, messy play and being creative. I love Early Years Education watching the children grow as they learn and have fun. Being part of their journey is an experience I am excited to be a part of.
